Why Huatulco?
The Bays of Huatulco – a place conceived for tranquility –a paradise on earth for rest and relaxation!
Huatulco is a “year-round” destination – the sun shines an average of 300 days a year and sea breezes keep the climate agreeable year-round.
Where to stay?
While Huatulco has accommodations for every taste and budget, we suggest you to stay in at least, a 4 star resort. Barcelo Huatulco Beach Resort is an impressive resort, with extensive gardens fronting the famous beach at Tangolunda Bay . It features modern architecture and a huge freeform pool. It is a great choice for active holidaymakers with its own dive shop, tennis courts, and a location handy to the 18-hole golf course.
Gala Resort – one of Mexico ’s best! It is located on the beautiful Bay of Tangolunda . It offers a wide array of sports, activities and entertainment, hosted by the "Galavants" activity team.
Santa Cruz is a seaside village faces the marina and surrounds an attractive main square. Visit the main square’s bandstand for a cup of locally grown coffee! There is an open-air market lies to one side of the plaza, along with several restaurants, shops and bars. A short walk is popular in the beach of Santa Cruz and you can join the boat trips to Yerbabuena and La Entrega beaches.
Tangolunda Bay is the grandest of Huatulco’s bays. Waves are strong and the beach, except for a small section at one end, is fairly steep so enjoy, surfers! San Agustin is a popular choice among the divers and snorkelling is also good in this bay. Copalita River can be explored in a boat or whole on a raft/kayak trip – make sure you wear a helmet, life jacket, harness and ropes, as they are mandatory.
The area offers beautiful coral reefs, cliffs, crags and tiny underwater island which made scuba diving perfect. There are 15 different dive spots on the bay where you will see rays, globefish and schools of tropical fish. The corals include moose horn and beds of black corals. There are octopus, jellyfish, moray eels, sharks, yellow jacks, snappers and, on occasion, whales and dolphins. Corals are found at Cacaluta, La India, Chachacual, Riscalillo and San Agustin sites.
As most of the packages to Huatulco are all-inclusive – meals are included, but if time allows, take a night or two and try the local restaurants. Santa Cruz is known for casual alfresco dining – Avalos Dona Celia Restaurant and Bar is a local favourite! Signature dishes: “fish with almonds” or “fish wrapped in palm leaves”. Miramar offers spectacular bay view and made exquisite gourmet Mexican/continental/seafood dishes. Helados Bing has delicious ice-cream, it is located at Santa Cruz Marina.

Around the area, there are taxis available throughout Huatulco’s three major settlements. Rates between Tangolunda and Santa Cruz or La Crucecita run 15-20 pesos. There is bus service connecting Tangolunda, Chahue and Santa Cruz bays. Fare is about 5 pesos per ride.
