Where to stay?
While St. Martin has accommodations for every taste and budget, we suggest you to stay in at least, a 4 star resort. Caravanserai Beach Resort is located at waters edge on Burgeaux Bay and at the pulse of the entertainment district on the Dutch side of St. Martin . This enchanting full-service resort captivates the mystic beauty of the island.
Maho Beach Resort is a beachfront resort (overlooking the Caribbean Sea ) and is set amidst a lush tropical garden with resort close to the most popular restaurant on the island, “Cheries”.
Fort St. Louis is the largest historical monument in St. Martin , this is where you can climb up and take a panoramic view of the island and the sea surrounding it. Be sure to visit the Marigot Market on either a Wednesday or Saturday morning, this open-air market offers a colourful array of homegrown produce, tropical fruits and spices and freshly caught fishes. Across the market are the “Lolo’s” – perfect for art and craft lovers.
Grand Case – a little fishing village that is famous not only for its fine foods but also for its distinctive style of architecture. Some of the restaurants also happen to be located in this area, including local dishes at barbecue stands called Lolo’s and souvenir shops. Do not miss the Tuesday night festivities during high season on the Blfd de Grand-Case. Half way between Marigot and Grand Case lies the picturesque setting of Colombier, a sumptuous green valley lush with tropical vegetation and sinking gently between rolling green hills. It is one of the most beautiful and most peaceful spots in St. Martin , perfect for private walks and quiet relaxation.
